Project title: Collaborative Action – Men who have sex with men (MSM) and seafarers respond to HIV/AIDS

Objective: To reduce HIV/STIs transmission among MSM and seafarers

Project description: The project carries out intervention through peer education to reduce HIV/STIs risk of infection among MSM in Hai Phong city and seafarers in Cat Ba island.

Major activities are:

• Building capacity for network of peer educators of MSM and seafarers in HIV/STIs prevention
• Implementation of outreach intervention targeting MSM in Hai Phong city for reduction of HIV/STIs risk of infection.
• Carrying out intervention model for reduction of STIs/HIV risk of infection among seafarers in Cat Hai district, Hai Phong city.

• Group communication sessions conducted: 842
• Total number of clients participated in group communication: 13,452
• Total number of clients reached through individual face to face (peer) communication: 11,134
• Number of condoms distributed: 49.855
• Number of lubricants distributed: 18.780
