“The content of the program mentioned and conveyed a lot of useful information to soldiers. It has approriately addressed sensitive issues of gender, sexual relation, STIs, alcohol, drugs, and condom use, which have not been adequately mentioned in the military. PE programs raised the awareness about HIV/AIDS and risk behaviors in HIV/STIs prevention. This led to increased responsibility in protecting and improving soldiers’ health and improved the quality of life, contributing to building a healthy lifestyle in the military.”

The project titled “Strengthening HIV prevention interventions in Vietnamese Army” is a three-year project aims to reduce HIV vulnerability in military personnel through strengthening counseling and testing (HTC), prevention (HVOP), maintaining high quality prevention of mother to child HIV transmission services and high quality HIV/TB services of Vietnamese HIV/AIDS military program. The project is funded by PEPFAR through Naval Health Research Center (NHRC), and implemented by Center for Community Health Promotion (CHP) in collaboration with Medical Military Department (MMD) of Ministry of Defense of Vietnam.
